Moldova, China speak out for advancing negotiations on Free Trade Agreement

Chisinau, 23 December /MOLDPRES/ – Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Aureliu Ciocoi, have discussed during the meeting, on Monday, with ambassador of China in Chisinau, Zhang Yinghong, the boosting political dialogue, strengthening bilateral cooperation relations in more fields, especially economic and investment between Moldova and China, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.

Minister Aureliu Ciocoi has welcomed the upward dynamics of Moldovan – Chinese relations and openness of Chinese Executive to develop an advanced intergovernmental partnership between Moldova and China, stressing the importance of boosting bilateral political dialogue by maintaining high – level contacts, including organising reciprocal visits of top management.

The discussion has also highlighted common interest in strengthening bilateral trade – economic cooperation by capitalising on opportunities offered in the sphere of trade and implementing concrete projects with participation of Chinese companies. Minister Aureliu Ciocoi has thanked for constant technical assistance provided to Moldova by Chinese Government and encouraged the Chinese companies to have a stronger investment presence in economy of Moldova, including in the territory of the free economic zones (ZEL). In this context, the parties have reiterated the importance of advancing negotiations on the Moldovan – Chinese Free Trade Agreement.

Also, the two officials have appreciated the mutual support within international organisations, specifying the importance of extending cooperation on it.
