Chisinau, 2 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Customs Service in 2019 collected more than 22.8 billion lei to the state budget, up by 1.486 billion lei or by 7 per cent more against the year before and by 12.4 per cent more against 2017.

The biggest share from the collection of payments represent the ones coming from the management of the value added tax (VAT), followed by excise duties and customs duties. As to the categories of goods subjected to excise duties, the biggest tax payer remains the oil sector, with a share of 41.4 per cent, followed by tobacco products, which generate 33.4 per cent and vehicles, with a quota of 18 per cent.

The increase in the collections managed by the Customs Service is prompted, preponderantly, by the continuous qualification of the customs employees, in order to carry out a qualitative control, authentic declaring of assets by good-faith economic agents, as well by the progress made in the anti-fraud sector.

According to the Customs Service, another factor which influences the increase in collections to the budget is the simplification of the customs procedures and facilitation of the international trade, such as the electronic declaration, Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), Home Customs Procedure (PVD) or Approved Exporter.
