Euro, U.S. dollar to cheapen against Moldovan leu

Chisinau, 2 January /MOLDPRES/ - The single European currency and the U.S. dollar will cheapen against the Moldovan leu in the end of this week and in early next week, according to the official exchange rates posted by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM).

Thus, the euro will cost 19.21 lei on the next six days, by 0.10 lei less than today. The dollar will depreciate by 0.03 lei, to an official price of 17.17 lei.

The Romanian leu will be cheaper too. BNM established an official exchange rate of 4.01 lei for this currency, decreasing by 0.02 lei.

The quotations of the Russian rouble and the Ukrainian hryvnia will remain unchanged. The hryvnia will continue to cost 0.72 lei and the rouble will preserve its price of 0.27 lei.

The official exchange rates announced by BNM today will remain valid till 8 January, during which the public sector employees will have a five-day mini-vacation on Christmas.
