Chisinau, 3 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today summoned a meeting on the subject of insurances, with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Serghei Puscuta, the leadership of the National Bank (BNM), of the National Commission for Financial Market (CNPF) and decision-makers of the State Chancellery, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
CNPF head Valeriu Chitan informed the prime minister about the fact that Moldova was facing deficit of trust in cooperation with the Green Card system and for this reason, the country had been monitored in the last three years. On the next period, a meeting of the monitoring committee of the Green Card system will take place, which will prepare a report for the system’s leadership and this report will establish whether Moldova will preserve the right to issue Greed Card certificates.
The deficit of confidence comes from the fact that more Moldovan insurance companies issuing the Green Card are undercapitalized and register delays and debts in payments for insured events.
Thirteen operators work on the insurances market, of which nine issuers of Green Card. According to the CNPF leadership, another several issuers out of nine present ones will lose right to issue the Green Card certificate on the next period.
A solution to preserve the right of issuing the Green Card certificates is the creation of a guarantee fund. Till the fund is set up, the insurance market operators are to get enough bank guarantee, in order to recover the reliability of the Green Card system.
In the end, the prime minister said that the issue of deficit of reliability was a result of an inadequate behavior of some insurance market operators and at this stage, it is necessary that namely the participants in this market undertake joint measures to recover the reliability.
