Moldovan head of state holds working meeting with PM

Chisinau, 3 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today held a working meeting with Prime Minister Ion Chicu. The two officials exchanged opinions on the situation in Moldova in early 2020 and the plans for the next months, the presidential press service has reported.
In particular, the head of state and the PM tackled the subject on distribution, starting from 2 January, of the social assistance and one-off compensations worth 700 lei to pensioners and socially vulnerable people.
The sides also discussed the launch of tenders for the repair of more than 300 km of road – works which should start in next spring.
Igor Dodon noted that a special subject due to be launched in the next weeks regarded more presidential actions and initiatives, meant to improve the living standards of the residents from the rural regions.
The interlocutors also exchanged opinions on the main reforms due to be promoted, especially the justice reform, the draft of which will be soon brought up for discussions and submitted to development partners for expert examination, including Venice Commission’s experts.
