In 2019 state budget revenues exceeded those of 2018 by 3.7 billion lei

Chisinau, 4 January /MOLDPRES/- In 2019, the revenues accumulated in the state budget exceeded those of 2018 by 3.762 billion lei. Under these conditions, all the budgetary obligations were paid by the end of the year, and the balances in the national public budget accounts were sufficient to finance all payments, even from the first hours of 2020. The information was presented by Prime Minister Ion Chicu.
According to the official, the revenues increased last year from the increase of 760 million lei from the accumulations of the State Tax Service, by 1,486 billion lei of the Customs accumulations and by 1,372 billion lei of other revenues.
Regarding the own incomes of the social assistance insurance budget, they increased by 764 million lei, and compared to the initially planned figure - by almost 1 billion lei. The increase was registered despite a 17% decrease in the cumulative share of social insurance contributions for the private sector in the first three quarters of 2019 compared to 2018. The own revenues of the compulsory health care insurance funds increased, the increase being 673 million lei.
At the same time, the revenues from the local budgets exceeded the planned figure by 205 million lei, and compared to 2018 they increased by 51 million lei.
In these conditions, in total, the national public budget increased revenues, over the previous year, by more than 5.25 billion lei. According to the prime minister, from this amount, the increase due to the collections of taxes and duties is about 4 billion lei, and the contribution of the external financial assistance constitutes about 1.3 billion lei.
The premier also referred to the budget deficit, planned to be in 2019 about 6 billion lei. He pointed out that at the end of the year this indicator was 2.94 billion lei, and as a share in GDP it is around 1.4%, while the allowable limit in the EURO area is 3%.
"Absolutely all the budgetary obligations have been financed until the end of the year, there are no arrears. Including salaries, pensions, allowances, and that support of 700 lei, for about 600 thousand citizens ”, wrote Prime Minister Ion Chicu on his official page on a social network.
