South Moldova city mayor says 2020 year dedicated to children in settlement

Chisinau, 8 January /MOLDPRES/ - The public administration of the southern Cahul city in 2020 will pay priority attention to edifying a proper infrastructure in the kindergartens from this settlement, according to Cahul mayor Nicolae Dandis.
„Work is carried out on technical projects dealing with kindergartens. It is about pre-school institutions, where capital repairs are scheduled with the renovation of roof, works of energy efficiency, thermal insulation, changing of doors, windows. The 2020 year budget sees considerable means meant for pre-school institutions for repair and arrangement. This year is really a year dedicated to children,’’ Nicolae Dandis said in an interview given to the regional portal www.ziuadeazi.md.
According to the Cahul mayor, more cultural and artistic projects, especially those dedicated to children, will have continuity in 2020 as well. ‘’We will organize, in continuation, the festivals initiated in Cahul and which already have a name in the country and abroad; we will start the editing of the magazine Cahul literar şi artistic (Artistic and literary Cahul). It is very important for one to invest in culture, as these are quite important investments, which bring economic ones. We have all premises to become a cultural capital of the country and we must turn them to good account,’’ the Cahul mayor stressed.
At the same time, Nicolae Dandis emphasized that programmes on local roads’ restoration, development of infrastructure needed for ordinary citizens were also priority for the Cahul authorities.
Dandis also highlighted the support, including the financial one, due to come directly from development partners in 2020. In this respect, the mayor said that more projects would be launched with European Union’s support in 2020. Among them, the mayor named programmes on the modernization of the water and sewerage supply service, development of an IT centre of excellence, on arranging the territory, sanitation, street illumination, etc.
Presently, among others, EU backs also the project on enhancing the degree of transparency of the Cahul city hall and municipal council.
