Chisinau, 9 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Hydrological Centre of the State Hydrometeorological Centre (SHS) has extended till 17 January the warning as to the danger posed by the ice formations, which appeared on water basins as a result of the night frost.
According to hydrologists, “in small rivers, water flows and water basins from Moldova, the ice formations will maintain – at banks and lakesides and ice bridges will remain on some water basins.”
The ice is thin and getting out on it is dangerous; in this respect, rescuers warn residents to be cautious nearby water basins. The warning is, first of all, addressed to parents of minor children, who are recommended to be quite attentive and monitor where their children play.
The warning is up-to-date, after a web portal from Balti today published pictures with more children playing on the fragile ice of a water basin from the region.
Meteorologists forecast maximal air temperatures of -3 Celsius degrees at night for the next days. During the day, the air temperatures will oscillate between +4 and +9 degrees.
