Former head of Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office detained

Chisinau, 11 January /MOLDPRES/- Former head of the Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office Viorel Morari was detained on 10 January for 72 hours.The information was confirmed by press officer of the General Prosecutor's Office Emil Gaitur.
The former head of the PA is suspected of abuse of office and forgery of public documents.
One of deputies of Prosecutor General Ruslan Popov said that the former head is suspected of being involved in the falsification of some procedural documents in a criminal case, committed in March 2017.
The case is managed by a group of prosecutors and criminal investigators, led by a prosecutor from the PG Prosecutin Department.
On 10 January the controls ordered a month ago at the Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office and at the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases by Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo ended.
