Moldovan president chairs working meeting on solving problems of economic agents in Transnistrian region

Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon chaired a working meeting on Monday with the participation of Governor of the National Bank of Moldova Octavian Armașu and Deputy Prime Minister Sergiu Pușcuță, Minister of Finance, the presidential press service has reported.

The participants discussed the way in which the president’s instructions on solving the problems in the activity of the economic agents from the Transnistrian region and their relations with the commercial banks in Moldova are being carried out.

Octavian Armașu made known details on the application of a possible mechanism of use of the national currency as a means of payment between the economic agents from the Transnistrian region and the commercial banks from the Republic of Moldova.

In this context, it was noted that the proposed measures aimed at eliminating the risks of money laundering, in accordance with the international obligations assumed by Moldova.

The sides were unanimous in the opinion on the need to continue debating this issue within the Working Group on confidence building measures, with the participation of the experts from Chisinau and Tiraspol.
