Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ - The members of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) today ruled to convene a general assembly of judges on 13 March 2020.
CSM President Dorel Musteata has said that such ordinary meetings were held annually. A report on the work of law courts in 2019 is to be unveiled at the meeting.
According to Musteata, the meeting was established for next March, so that the CSM secretariat manages to prepare all needed documents.
Also today, CSM nominated five judges, who will participate in a regional conference titled, Recovery and management of criminal assets, due to take place on 29-30 January.
On 27 September 2019, more than 200 magistrates convened at a general assembly of judges and ruled to dismiss CSM’s entire panel of judges. The decision of that meeting was not recognized and was contested by CSM. In late last October, the judges made another attempt to convene at a general assembly, which failed, however.
