Political representatives in process of talks on Transnistrian settlement hold meeting in Tiraspol

Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ - A working meeting of the political representatives in the process of negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement on behalf of Chisinau and Tiraspol took place at the headquarters of the OSCE Mission from Tiraspol today.
At the meeting, the political representative on behalf of Chisinau tackled the subject on the observance of the human rights in the Transnistrian region. He reiterated individual cases, including the ones of Moldova’s citizens Alexandr Rjavitin and Oleg Horjan, with an appeal of active involvement, in order to re-establish and protect their fundamental rights.
The participants in the event also highlighted a string of urgent problems presently faced by some economic agents from Moldova in the carrying out of commercial and economic activities in the Transnistrian region and the residents from the Security Zone, in the context that the so-called Tiraspol structures impose them to pay unilateral and groundless tariffs.
The participants in the meeting reviewed also the priorities for the immediately next period and topical subjects on which the sides will continue the dialogue, in order to identify viable solutions. The participants also pointed out the draft protocol decisions on the agenda of the talks and which are to be given final touches by competent specialists.
The political representatives also emphasized the need to boost the activity of the sectoral working groups and discussed the period of the meetings, due to be held by some groups as a priority. Among them, there are experts from the railway and road transport sector, economics, pharmaceutics, veterinary and phyto-sanitary fields, etc.
The political representative on behalf of Chisinau, Deputy Prime Minister Alexandru Flenchea stressed the necessity to continue the interaction in the current formats of negotiations, in order to implement the commitments taken and solve the difficulties with major impact on the residents from both banks of Dniester.
