Moldovan speaker lays flowers at busts of Mihai Eminescu, Grigore Vieru

Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Zinaida Greceanii with President Igor Dodon and members of the Government laid flowers today at the busts of Mihai Eminescu and Grigore Vieru on the Alley of Classics in the Public Garden Stefan cel Mare, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
In this way, the high officials recorded the National Culture Day, marked on 15 January, when poet Mihai Eminescu was born and paid tribute to poet Grigore Vieru on the eve of his commemoration day, which is marked on 18 January.
On the occasion of the National Culture Day, the speaker conveyed a message thanking intellectuals for contributing to the consolidation, development and promotion of the rich cultural values of our people. Also, Greceanii said that artistic personalities and ordinary people are worthy of admiration, as they contribute to the preservation and continuous development of cultural diversity.
"Multiculturalism is distinct for our country, it makes us more united, stronger and more confident in the future of the Republic of Moldova", the message reads.
