Moldovan president has meeting with interior minister

Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon, in his capacity of head of the Supreme Security Council (CSS), has had a meeting with Interior Minister Pavel Voicu. The officials discussed the crime situation, including the serious crimes, as well as the statistics concerning the number of traffic accidents on the period 2019-2020, the presidential press service has reported.
Igor Dodon asked to pay special attention to the investigation of the cases with high impact, especially the serious ones, by permanently informing the public opinion and the Moldovan top leadership. The head of state noted that the guilty persons must be called to account, under the legislation, and be responsible for the deeds committed.
Separately, the sides tackled the situation on the national roads regarding the traffic accidents. The Moldovan president stressed that, although the indexes had improved against the same period of the year before, nevertheless, the situation remains alarming.
Also, Igor Dodon said that the combating of the crime phenomenon was one of the priorities of the current governance; thus, the officials ruled to include these subjects for discussion at the next meeting of the Supreme Security Council.
