Moldovan president visits Municipal Clinical Hospital St.Arhanghel Michael

Chisinau, 17 January /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon on 16 January paid a visit to the Municipal Clinical Hospital St. Arhangel Michael, which recently marked 190 years since its foundation, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state congratulated the medical staff of the institution on the jubilee, and handed to the director, Mihai Ciobanu, the Order of Honor. Also, for long and prodigious work in the health care, contribution to the improvement of the curative-prophylactic process and high professionalism, Igor Dodon conferred state distinctions to medical workers working in the institution.
The president expressed gratitude to the medical team for the work performed daily and the care given to patients, for professionalism and the quality of the services provided.
At the same time, the head of state stressed that in order to improve the situation in the medical system, efforts will be made to increase the salaries of the employees of the system, as well as equipping all medical institutions in the country with high-performance equipment, according to international standards.
According to historical data and archival documentation, the Hospital was set up in 1829. At present, the medical institution provides assistance to about 13,000 patients per year, with a capacity of 290 beds and about 500 employees. It is also the first medical unit that has provided assistance to persons with disabilities, as well as a clinical base for the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy Nicolae Testimiţanu.
