Moldovan PM chairs cabinet meeting

Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu chaired a cabinet meeting today. The meeting’s agenda comprised 15 subjects, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In the beginning of the event, the PM referred to the meeting with mayors, in which more than 750 mayors and all district heads participated. Ion Chicu demanded that a section be created on the government’s webpage, meant for informing the mayors about the cabinet’s plans and initiatives.
Till starting considering the agenda, the prime minister said: “At the first cabinet meeting from this year, I asked to extend the validity term of the electronic signature. I was informed that solutions had been identified and now the term is of two years. Yet, I received information reading that the Customs Service collects higher costs for the electronic signature and I ask you to revise the approach.
In the beginning of the mandate, I asked to give up groundless procurements of gadgets and other accessories, which is practiced by public institutions. I ask the State Chancellery to verify the fulfillment of this demand.”
In continuation, the cabinet of ministers considered subjects on the agenda and approved decisions, among which a ten-per cent increase in the salaries of the employees from the medical and sanitary institutions. More than 49,000 people are beneficiaries of this decision, with financial means worth 300 million lei provided for in the budget to this end.
