Moldovan premier's message on anniversary of Elysee Treaty

Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/ - The message of Prime Minister Ion Chicu on the anniversary of the Elysee Treaty:       

The Elysee Treaty is probably one of the best samples of the beneficial impact of the intelligence and wisdom.  

The framework set by the Elysee Treaty helped leaders overcome the  disagreements triggered by various visions and approaches.   

The mankind needs peace and balance and the history has showed us many times that, in order to flourish, cooperation is necessary.

The Treaty from 1963 created the circumstances in which Germany and France became friends and partners.

The entire Europe benefited from the wise partnership between the two big European economic powers.

Now, or maybe now more than ever, the wisdom and intelligence of the authors of the Elysee Treaty is needed, in order to consolidate the balance in the world and enhance the level of trust between people and countries.

The motto of the European Union, United through Diversity, seems to come from the Elysee Treaty and we, the Moldovans, believe that, through our differences, we will bring value added to the great European family.   

I bring homage to the Elysee Treaty, especially the treaty’s authors and I wish us, those who live at present, the wisdom of the people who worked out and signed this treaty.
