Moldovan PM has meeting with OSCE representative

Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today had a meeting with Special Representatives of the OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office for Transnistrian Settlement Thomas Mayr-Harting, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM thanked the European official for the support provided to Moldova in the process of management of the Transnistrian conflict. “During more than 20 years, we have been facing this problem and we need the support of our foreign partners. Your visit and involvement we help us find solutions and make progress in the Transnistrian conflict settlement.”
The sides discussed a wide range of subjects, among which the freedom of movement in the Security Zone, joint control of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border on the Transnistrian segment, mobile telephony tariffs and observance of the human rights.
The prime minister said that the Transnistrian subject remained a priority on the government’s working agenda for 2020, noting that he relied on the 5+2 format of discussions and the efficient cooperation with Ukraine.
Ion Chicu pointed out that all actions undertaken would put on the forefront the interests of the citizens from both banks of Dniester.
