Moldovan PM visits high school in Colibasi village

Chisinau, 23 January /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Ion Chicu visited theoretical high school Vasile Alecsandri from Colibași village, Cahul district. 55 teachers are working there. The high school is attended by children from Colibași and the neighboring villages - Vadul lui Isac, Brînza and Văleni. About six thousand inhabitants are registered in Colibasi village, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The high school building was built in 1964 and since then has not been renovated. Currently, within the central block of the institution, capital repair works are being carried out with the support of FISM. The cost of the contract is 11.5 million lei. In fact, about 3.5 million lei are needed for the total modernization of the building. The school renovation is to be completed in August 2020.

The local public authorities asked the premier to help identify the financial means necessary to complete the works. "We realize that education is a priority, we must do everything possible to identify resources. We cannot admit to leaving the works half done, “ he said.

Chicu had a discussion at the city hall with the local management and a group of councilors, and approached the village problems and ways to solve them.
