Chisinau, 23 January /MOLDPRES/- The Superior Council of Prosecutors admitted the request by Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo on the suspension from office of Chief Prosecutor of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office Viorel Morari until the final decision was adopted on the case.
He was detained on January 10 for service abuse and forgery of public documents, and subsequently placed in custody for 20 days.
The suspended chief prosecutor of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office is accused of receiving a complaint from Vladimir Plahotniuc that he had filed against the legal provisions, under which he started a criminal case and forged a lot of documents.
These actions were committed both in the personal interest and in the interest of the petitioner and of others in his entourage, in order to protect them from being involved as suspects in the criminal case on bank fraud and obstruct quick and objective investigation of the case.
