Chisinau, 23 January /MOLDPRES/ - The beneficiaries of the 700-lei-worth support, who have not managed to take the money on the established period of 2-20 January, will be able to do this till the end of this year. Health Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu made statements to this effect at a news briefing today.

According to the minister, so far, the assistance has been received by 525,000 people, which accounts for 90.5 per cent of all beneficiaries. “Those who still have not raised the money can do it till the end of the 2020 year, at the payment operator, without submitting a special application or other additional procedures,” Viorica Dumbraveanu noted.

The official reviewed all social initiatives launched by the competent ministry and approved by the government in late 2019 and which are already implemented in 2020. Among them, the minister named the increase by 300 lei of the state allocation for the participants in the combat actions for the defence of Moldova’s territorial integrity and independence, combat actions in Afghanistan and in other states, increase in the social allocation for the persons with disabilities, including the elderly people who do not benefit from pensions, increase in the survivor pension, pensions for the spouse survivor, increase of the material assistance for the cold period of the year, growth of the one-off child-birth allowance, etc.

„Also in January, an allocation of 500 lei is paid to the rehabilitated victims of the political repressions. So far, 44 people have submitted applications to receive this money or, in this context, I ask the people with the status of rehabilitated victim of political repressions, who maybe receive pensions on the territory of other states, to come and submit applications to the offices of the National Social Insurances House (CNAS) from the place of residence, in order to re-establish the right to this allocation,” the minister said.

Dumbraveanu also warned about the fact that, starting from January, the next phase of the re-examination of age limit pensions was implemented, in case of the pensioners who continued working after getting the right to this pension. “Beginning with 1 January, decision-makers re-examine the pensions of the persons who retired till 1999 and had a length of pensionable service of not less than 15 years after the establishment of this right. Till present, 2,178 people have asked for this right at CNAS territorial offices,” the health, labour and social protection minister said. She urged the people who fit this provision to appeal to CNAS and submit the applications for re-examination.

Viorica Dumbraveanu informed that such meetings with the media would be held regularly, either weekly or once in two weeks, in order to ensure the transparency of the ministry’s work and inform the residents about all social protection measures they benefit from.
