Moldovan parliament speaker meets head of National State Guaranteed Legal Aid Council

Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today had a meeting with the head of the National State Guaranteed Legal Aid Council, chief of the Lawyers’ Union of Moldova Emanoil Plosnita, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.     

The participants in the meeting discussed problems on lawyers’ agenda and pointed out solutions to them.  

Among the problems specific for this sector, Emanoil Plosnita stressed the need to work out a law on lawyer’s profession, the social and health insurance of the women involved in this profession, attraction of young lawyers to Moldova’s districts.

Zinaida Greceanii expressed support for the lawyers’ efforts aimed at settling the problems in the field, in order to contribute to the improvement of the quality of services provided to the citizens. The speaker noted that the parliament was expecting the final report on the institution’s work in 2019, due to be presented till 1 March 2020. 

In the end, Emanoil Plosnita thanked Zinaida Greceanii for the attention paid to problems faced by the lawyers, noting that the parliament speaker initiating a meeting in this format was a first event of this kind.  

Before the parliament spring session, the speaker holds meetings with representatives of the institutions which report to parliament, in order to identify the problems and priorities for medium term.
