Moldovan parliament speaker, leadership of National Integrity Authority consider measures to strengthen authority's capacities

Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today met the head of the National Integrity Authority (ANI), Rodica Antoci, and the chief of the department for evaluation, prevention and implementation of policies at this institution, Viorel Sochirca, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.    

The sides discussed the institution’s problems and goals, including the measures necessary to consolidate ANI’s capacities.

Rodica Antoci noted that one of ANI’s priority objectives was the upgrading of the legislative framework for improving the work of the integrity inspector, who is a very important chain in the good functioning of the Authority.  

Also, the ANI head spoke out for an efficient cooperation with other institutions in charge.

Zinaida Greceanii demanded that the report of the institution, which is to be submitted to parliament, contains an analysis of the problems in their dynamic, in order to formulate viable proposals as to strengthening the capacities of the National Integrity Authority.  

The parliament speaker stressed the importance of ANI’s impeccable work, including in the context of the justice reform implemented in Moldova. “You are an essential component of the framework of combating corruption. Both the country’s leadership and all our citizens have great expectations from you,” Zinaida Greceanii said.

Before the parliament spring session, the speaker holds meetings with representatives of the institutions which report to parliament, in order to identify the problems and priorities for medium term.
