Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today summoned a meeting, in order to consider the evolution of the First Home programme. Attending the meeting were decision-makers of the Finance Ministry and the Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development (ODIMM) – the institution which considers files and issues state guarantees, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In the beginning of the meeting, Ion Chicu said: “We are interested in the evolution of the First Home programme, in learning how demanded the programmes are and which is their evolution on each component separately.”
ODIMM director Iulia Costin informed the PM about the number of beneficiaries of the programme and the geography of its enforcement. So far, 3,956 people have benefited from this programme, of whom 2,776 are young families and 1,180 – young unmarried persons. The average age of the applicants is of 31 years and the average value of the dwellings bought is of 591,000 lei. As many as 3,707 dwellings were purchased in urban zones and 249 – in rural ones.
The prime minister noted that enough money had been budgeted for the First Home programme for 2020. He said that the cabinet was set to extend the programme to the buying of other assets in the near future, including automobiles. “The programme is meant for young people and it must be adapted to their needs and expectations. We are interested in the programme being more intensely enforced for the rural zones,” the prime minister stressed.
Ion Chicu asked ODIMM, while taking into account the experience gained, to undertake measures of simplifying and digitalizing the enforcement procedures.
„Please, find a solution to how we provide support to young people who borrowed real estate loans till the launch of the First Home programme and integrate them into the programme,” was prime minister’s demand to decision-makers of the Finance Ministry.
