Moldovan parliament speaker has meeting with Ombudsman

Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/ - The provisions of good laws are deficiently enforced in terms of human rights. The ascertaining was made at a today’s meeting of Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii with Ombudsman Mihai Cotorobai and Ombudswoman for Rights of the Child Maia Banarescu, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.    

The parliament speaker assured the Ombudspersons of support in issues regarding the human rights and the rights of the child, especially as concerns the inclusion, institutionalization and protection, where there are many problems which must be solved.   

The Ombudspersons thanked the parliament speaker for openness and interest in the topics related to human rights. They signaled a low level of fulfillment of the recommendations of the Ombudsman’s institution and the need to promote subjects on human rights at all decision-making levels.  
 
Before the parliament’s spring session, the speaker holds meetings with representatives of the institutions which report to parliament, in order to identify the problems and priorities for medium term.
