Moldovan PM participates in meeting of council for veterans' problems

Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today participated in a public meeting of the national council for the war veterans’ problems, held at the Army House. About 300 veterans took part in the meeting, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The participants in the meeting tackled frequent problems faced by the veterans, such as access to medical treatment and rehabilitation services, backing provided for employment and professional training, medical insurance and material aid.
The participants ruled to set up councils in each districts and create 9 specialized working groups, which will focus on communication with public authorities, issue of compensations’ payments, problems of health and rehabilitation, subject of military and patriotic education, etc.
„I am happy to be here. Today, we re-launch the work of the national council of veterans, which is the most efficient instrument to solve the veterans’ problems. We have more than 20,000 veterans. The problems are serious and have accumulated during years. I have come to discuss how we solve your problems and the ones of the country. I regard you the bravest men of the nation; let us put politics aside, dissensions, quarrels and unite. I assure you that we will do everything the government can do at present,” the prime minister said.
The Council’s secretary unveiled an action plan for 2020-2023, which contains 50 actions on all subjects tackled at the meeting.
During one hour, the PM answered veterans’ questions.
In the end of the meeting, the prime minister said: ”I will not make promises which the government cannot fulfill. I have noted the problems approached by you. All of them will be considered and we will solve them as far as possible.”
