Moldovan cabinet to create clear, stable rules for economic agents' work

Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu has met representatives of the National Employers’ Confederation of Moldova (CNPM). The sides exchanged opinions on measures necessary to stimulate the activity of the business, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

Ion Chicu welcomed the CNPM representatives at the government and gave assurances that the cabinet’s team was connected to the social and economic situation in Moldova. The PM urged the employers to a constructive dialogue, in order to jointly overcome the problems.

The employers’ representatives also highlighted more impediments faced by economic agents in various sectors. Among them, there were: insufficiency of labour force, need to regulate the state controls and modernize the Labour Code. They stressed the importance to consolidate the public policies in the construction sector within a single ministry, as well as to establish the budgetary and fiscal policy for a long term. Other subjects discussed were focused on meal vouchers,   entrepreneur’s licence, HORECA taxes, justice reform, etc.

The prime minister set forth the government’s vision on the settlement of all problems tackled at the meeting. As to the diminution of the state controls, the PM specified that the economic police would be soon dissolved. As for the budgetary and fiscal policy, the prime minister confirmed the cabinet’s intention to create clear-cut and stable rules for the work of the economic agents; therefore, he invited employers to the platform of talks, launched by the Finance Ministry, so that the goals of the fiscal policy for 2021 are set till next May.

The PM also stressed that all problems set forth needed a systemic approaching and the government was open for cooperation with the social partners, in order to find solutions.
