District hospitals to no longer be closed in Moldova - president says

Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon announced today after the traditional meeting of the country's leadership that district hospitals will no longer be closed.
According to the head of state, hospitals in the province will be re-equipped. "We will re-equip the district hospitals with new medical technology. We have the necessary financial resources to do so." He also announced that in four to five months 168 new ambulances will be procured, which will be distributed in each district.
Also, Dodon announced the resumption, from February 2020, of the program -A doctor for you. Under the program, the villages of the Republic of Moldova will be visited by traveling medical caravans, which will provide free medical consultations.
At the same time, the president said that the state will compensate the transport costs of the people with oncological conditions, who have to go to Chisinau for treatment.
