Development of organized crime stopped in Moldova - interior minister says

Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Internal Affairs Pavel Voicu said at a today’s meeting of the parliamentary commission on security and public order that there is no development of organized crime in the Republic of Moldova. "Crime bosses in Moldova are documented and are under the supervision of the Ministry of Interior", he said.
Parliamentary committee head Alexandru Jizdan said that this was possible due to the will of the Moldovan political class. "Stopping the development of organized crime is a message to everyone – politicians want to stop this phenomenon," Jizdan said.
At the same time, the interior minister noted that there is no connection between the latest crime situation and organized crime.
