Moldovan president says neutrality status of Moldova to contribute to strengthening security in region

Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon, in his speech given at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), today said that the providing of a neutrality status to Moldova would contribute to the strengthening of security in the region.
The president believes that the neutrality status would have a positive impact on the Transnistrian settlement process.
”The Transnistrian conflict settlement and the confidence building measures are among the most important priorities of Moldova’s present leadership,” Dodon said.
In the context, the head of state welcomed Russia’s initiative from last August on resuming the process of elimination of the ammunitions from Moldova.
President Igor Dodon pays a working visit to Strasbourg today.
