Superior Council of Prosecutors backs policies by prosecutor general

Chisinau, 30 January /MOLDPRES/- The Superior Council of Prosecutors decided on Thursday to support the request of Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo to change the structure and status of the General Prosecutor's Office.
Under the decision, the Chisinau Municipal Prosecutor's Office will have an additional ten units of prosecutors who will set the staff of the offices: Buiucani, Botanica, Centru, Ciocana and Râșcani.
Also, Superior Council of Prosecutors Head Angela Motuzoc said that staffing in Cahul Prosecutor's Office will be increased on account of a vacant unit from the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS), the south office.
Under the legislation, the prosecutor general will prepare the necessary documents to enforce the CSP decision after it will be made public on the official website.
At today's Council meeting, Stoianoglo argued his proposal that in some offices of the prosecutor's office there is a large volume of work that is not covered by staff.
