Moldovan president says justice reform priority No 1 of current governance

Chisinau, 30 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon on 29 January had an informal meeting with Council of Europe officials and ambassadors accredited to CoE, in the end of his visit to Strasbourg, the presidential press service has reported.
The sides discussed a string of issues on Moldova’s domestic and foreign policies, inter-ethnic relations and the Transnistrian settlement. Igor Dodon reiterated that the priority No 1 of the current governance was the justice reform, which influences practically all aspects of the institutions’ work and the life of citizens.
After giving the speech, the head of state answered more questions and appreciated the foreign partners’ increased interest in Moldova. At the same time, the Moldovan president said that he further relied on the Council of Europe’s assistance, including the one of the Venice Commission, to implement the reforms assumed.
