“Those 205 companies were selected following a last August inspection by the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision ( Rosselkhoznadzor). Experts of the Russian institution monitored 517 enterprises registered at the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) as potential exporters to the Russian market. Subsequently, the companies meeting all requirements of the importer were nominated,” Ion Perju said.
The official pointed out that the decision by Rosselkhoznadzor imposed responsibility on behalf of the Moldovan authorities, which must ensure the fact of products’ quality and compliance, avoiding of re-exporting, thus maintaining the trust of consumers from Russia.
For his part, the head of the Moldova Fruct Association of Producers and Exporters of Fruits, Vitalie Gorincioi, said that the list of exporting companies had been coordinated with the organization he represents. He stressed that Moldova Fruct would one of the “guards which will follow the observance of the goods’ quality and namely the goods sent from Moldova should reach the end consumer.” “We have good experience of export to many regions of the world, where we have managed to persuade consumers of the quality of the Moldovan products and we will stick to this practice,” Gorincioi said.
In another context, the head of the Moldova Fruct association suggested to the agriculture minister and the ANSA leadership that a division would be introduced on the institution’s webpage, which will include the list of the exporting companies, which is to contain the passport and a description of the capacities of each enterprise. “Thus, any potential importer will be able to see online the possibilities and the supply. This is a good opportunity for all producers from Moldova,” Vitalie Gorincioi added.
