Chisinau, 31 January /MOLDPRES/- Moldovagaz company will expand its network of compressed gas filling stations in the country. Company head Vadim Ceban made the statement at a meeting with Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban.
They agreed on the signing of a memorandum of understanding, for the construction of several stations in the capital, and some stations on the territory of the Municipal Enterprise Urban bus park on Sarmizegetusa street and near the South-West bus station.
The gas supply of the municipal public transport will have not only ecological but also economic benefits, the price of one cubic meter of compressed gas being 42% lower than one liter of diesel. Given that each of the 126 municipal public transport buses travels about 56 thousand kilometers annually and has an average consumption of 37 liters of diesel fuel per 100 km, the savings will be significant.
Currently, about 44% of municipal buses are over 20 years old, 38% - over 15 years and 18% over 10 years, requiring park renewal.
