Ten wineries in Moldova signed collaboration agreements in cross-border project

Chisinau, 31 January /MOLDPRES/- The top ten wineries in Moldova signed today collaboration agreements within the cross-border project WINET - trade and innovation in the wine industry. It will include winemakers and wineries from the Black Sea region (Moldova, Romania and Bulgaria).
At the same time, a communication platform of the WINET Project was launched at the event, which according to Rodica Verbeniuc, Director of the Investment Agency of Moldova, is "a digital, direct, effective and fast communication tool for the winemakers to ensure free promotion, increasing its visibility on the external market ”. "We are confident that WINET will change the cooperation way and optimize communication with potential consumers and distribution networks in the three partner countries, boosting the growth of cross-border trade", Verbeniuc said.
"It is a beautiful initiative, meant to unite Romania, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova in a joint effort to promote an element of national heritage. Wine united us and went through history, however, this project is important because it provides for exchanges between third countries, including best practices and increased export. At the same time, the project also means Moldova’s getting closer to the European Union ”, Romanian Ambassador to Chisinau Daniel Ioniţă said.
For his part, Evgueni Stefanov Stoytchev, Bulgaria's ambassador to Moldova said "this project is important for increasing capacity and professionalism in the wine sector. It is necessary that the representatives of the field in those three countries exchange and associate, thus increasing their level of qualification and competence in the wine industry ”.
The main goals of the WINET Project are to boost cross-border trade, modernize the agricultural sector and create new collaboration opportunities for producers in the wine industry in the Black Sea basin.
In order to achieve the goals, the project partners will create a network, made up of over 100 companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, research and higher education institutions, local, regional and national authorities, as well as interest groups, NGOs and entrepreneurial support organizations from the three founding countries of the WINET project - Moldova, Romania and Bulgaria.
The WINET project also includes a thorough research of the wine market for the three participating countries.
The WINET - trade and innovation in the wine industry project is funded with a budget of about 700 thousand euros by the European Union, through the BLACK SEA BASIN 2014-2020. It is implemented by the Investment Agency of Moldova, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Stara Zagora (Bulgaria) and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture - Tulcea (Romania). The period of its development and implementation is April 2019 - April 2021.
