OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities meets Moldovan president's apparatus

Chisinau, 31 January /MOLDPRES/ - A meeting between the Moldovan President’s Apparatus and OSCE Higher Commissioner on National Minorities Lamberto Zannier, on a working visit to Moldova, took place today, at an instruction by President Igor Dodon, the presidential press service has reported.
At the meeting, the Moldovan side was represented by the secretary general of the President’s Apparatus, Nicolae Posturusu, the presidential adviser for inter-ethnic relations, Serghei Misin, the adviser for foreign policy, Eugen Caras, and the head of the commission for inter-ethnic relations at the Civil Society Council under the Presidency, Elena Beleacova.
The interlocutors discussed a string of up-to-date issues for Moldova: interaction between the central authorities and the ethnic and cultural organizations; status of the Russian language and the mother languages of the ethnic minorities from Moldova, studying of the official language in the pre-university institutions, where subjects are taught in Russian; dialogue between the central and regional authorities, including with the Gagauz Autonomy and the Taraclia district, etc.
During the discussions, the sides exchanged opinions on subjects nominated, pointed out prospects for continuing a dialogue between Moldova and the foreign partners, including the international organizations.
For his part, Lamberto Zannier promised that OSCE would further provide support to settle the issues tackled.
