People receiving parcels from China unlikely to contract coronavirus

Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/- People receiving parcels from China are not at risk of contracting a new type of Coronavirus infection. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection made the statement to this end.
According to a statement posted on the ministry's website, previous analyzes conducted by international laboratories show that coronaviruses do not survive long on the surface of objects, such as letters or packages.
The extension of the Coronavirus epidemic was discussed on 2 February in the national public health commission. During the meeting, the prevention and response measures were approached and the WHO recommendations on international travel and prevention of Coronavirus infection were recalled.
WHO recommends people to avoid traveling to countries / regions where the new type Coronavirus is spreading ; avoiding close contact with people suffering from acute respiratory infections; etc.
Data by theChinese authorities show that the new type of coronavirus has killed 361 people and tends to cause a pandemic. Experts say that this type of coronavirus found in Wuhan is spreading faster than the flu and most at danger are the underdeveloped countries, especially those in Africa.
