Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/- An audit mission to the Southern Regional Development Agency (ADR) has recently analyzed five regional projects on water supply, sewerage and energy efficiency in public buildings. The financial audit was conducted on the execution of the financing agreement, concluded between GIZ and the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment. The audit period is 15 November 2017 - 20 December 2019. The audit report was presented by experts of ARGE Moore Stephens Ludewig AG (consortium), after which it was discussed by GIZ representatives, led by Dietrich Hahn, senior international consultant, and the implementation team from the Southern Regional Development Agency, led by director Maria Culesov.
The meeting concluding the audit gave partners the opportunity to discuss the results, challenges and obstacles faced by South ADR in the implementation of externally funded projects conducted by GIZ. At the same time, the partners have identified best solutions and opportunities for effective cooperation and successful implementation of the five projects on water supply, sewerage services and increasing the energy efficiency of public buildings due to be carried out with the financial support of the European Union.
The projects were taken over from the regional sectoral programs, worked out with the support of GIZ in 2014-2015.They are implemented by the ADR South and are currently being finalized on design services and transmission to the beneficiaries of the technical documentation and, respectively, organizing and conducting public procurement and initiating the works.
Following the implementation of the projects, over 64 thousand citizens of the Southern Region of the country will benefit from modern conditions of water supply and sewerage services. At the same time, two schools from Leova and Basarabeasca districts will benefit, thanks to the support of the European Union, from energy efficiency projects, which will provide best conditions for the professional activity of the staff and the studies of pupils from several localities. "All these measures will eventually contribute to the elimination of rural and urban inequalities," sources in ADR South said.
