Moldovan parliament speaker meets head of Competition Council

Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today met the head of the Competition Council, Marcel Raducan. The council is an autonomous public authority responsible before the legislative body, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
Attending the event was the head of the parliament’s commission for economy, budget and finances, Vladimir Golovatiuc.
The chief of the Competition Council unveiled the preliminary report on the institution’s work in 2019 and shortly presented the difficulties this authority was facing.
Raducan stressed the need to boost the cooperation with other competent bodies, in order to optimize the institution’s activity, aimed at ensuring the observance of the legislation in the competition sector.
Zinaida Greceanii assured the head of the Council of the parliament’s full support and openness. She reiterated that lawfulness and correctness must be at the basis of the institution’s work and the final goal should be the protection of the fair competition in the interests of the consumers.
Given that the parliament’s spring session starts, Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii holds meetings with the representatives of institutions which report to the parliament, in order to identify medium-term problems and priorities.
