Moldovan government records important achievements on more dimensions in first 100 days

Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today met Ambassador of Latvia to Moldova Uldis Mikuts. The officials tackled a wide range of subjects on the bilateral agenda, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM thanked the ambassador for the support provided to Moldova by Latvia in the European integration process and showed confidence that the Moldovan-Latvian relations would witness progress on the next period.
„In those almost 100 days of governance, we have already registered important achievements on more dimensions. We stay focused on reforms’ implementation, development of infrastructure, attraction of investments and enhancement of people’s well-being,” Ion Chicu said.
Ambassador of Latvia Uldis Mikuts informed the prime minister about his country’s willingness to back Moldova in the development of the media sector, progress in justice reformation, fighting corruption, development of rural tourism and strengthening the food safety mechanisms through transfer of experience. PM Chicu welcomed this.
The prime minister stressed the cabinet’s interest in boosting the commercial and economic cooperation with Latvia. He referred to the intention to revive the work of the Moldovan-Latvian intergovernmental commission, which will have the task to work out and implement a plan of concrete actions.
