Meteorologists announce orange, yellow codes in Moldova

Chisinau, 4 February /MOLDPRES/- The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) announced, for 5-6 February in the central and southern areas - Orange Code, and North - Yellow Code of sudden change of weather.

According to meteorologists, in connection with the movement from the western Europe of the Atlantic cyclone, during the period, complicated weather conditions are expected in Moldova. Rainfall then  heavy snowfall (7-17 l / m2) are expected in the country. The weather will cool down. On 6-7 February, the air temperature will drop by 5-7 degrees.

In this context, the National Patrol Inspectorate (INP) warns the traffic participants to adapt, according to weather conditions, the way to drive, taking into account the wet or slippery road.

At the same time, the police warn that in heavy rain or snow conditions, stops on the routes on which the public transport is traveling are prohibited to allow normal traffic.

The authorities urge people to comply with these recommendations and if necessary, to call the nearest patrol crew or the Emergency Service 112.

If Orange Code, the weather conditions present real danger, dangerous phenomena of high intensity are predicted (storm, rainfall, lightning, hail, frost, flood risk etc.), which may adversely affect socio-economic activities, can cause material damage and human casualties.
