Moldovan parliament's leadership meets IMF mission

Chisinau, 4 February /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii, Deputy Parliament Speakers Alexandru Slusari and Mihail Popsoi today had a meeting with the mission of the International Monetary Fund, led by Ruben Atoyan. Attending the discussions was the head of the parliament’s commission for economy, budget and finances, Vladimir Golovatiuc, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

The meeting was occasioned by the end of the IMF mission’s visit, paid to Moldova starting from 22 January. The visit’s goal was to analyze the developments in the implementation of the Moldovan government’s programme with IMF and identify the medium-term challenges and the risks faced by Moldova’s economy.

The participants in the meeting considered measures, including legislative ones, which are to be undertaken to successfully complete the programme.

Also, the sides tackled the prospect for initiating a new programme with IMF.
