Moldovan parliament announces contest for selecting candidates for position of member of Superior Council of Magistracy

Chisinau, 5 February /MOLDPRES/ - The juridical commission for rules and immunities today announced public contest for the selection of candidates for the positions of member of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM).

According to the contest’s conditions, the candidate for the position of CSM member must have the citizenship of Moldova, work in the higher education as titular scientific and didactic staff, should have scientific and didactic experience of at least five years and enjoy an irreproachable reputation.  

The files on participation in the contest can be submitted till 19 February 2020. They can be sent by the candidate personally or through email. The files will contain: a motivation letter; curriculum vitae, the copy of the identity card; copies of the education diplomas and of the certification on finishing of professional qualification courses; 2 letters of recommendation; criminal record; a declaration on one’s own responsibility on the absence of the ban on holding a public office coming from the ascertaining act by the National Integrity Authority; a declaration of assets and personal interests with the holograph signature; a draft on the main goals he/she is to pursue, if elected as member of the Superior Council of Magistracy.  

Under the last amendments to the legislation, CSM will be made up of 15 members, by three more than earlier. The Council will include judges and titular professors of law, as well as the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Justice Minister and Prosecutor General, who are de jure members.
