Chisinau to host forum of regions of Russia, Moldova

Chisinau, 5 February /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon chaired the first meeting of the working group for organizing and conducting the Forum of the regions of Russia and Moldova in Chisinau, the presidential press service has reported.
Igor Dodon noted that the event will take place on 13-15 May on Priority directions for the development of regional cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation. Valentina Matvienko, President of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, is also expected to attend the Forum.
Today, those present at the meeting discussed several organizational issues, established a list of priority directions of activity and appointed the persons responsible for each of them.
The head of state expressed the confidence that the event will be conducted successfully, as was the case for the two Moldovan-Russian economic forums. Dodon said that the event was meant to boost the cooperation between the regions of our countries and to contribute to more effective agreements reached at the meeting of the Moldovan-Russian Intergovernmental Commission for economic cooperation, held in September 2019.
