Tiraspol hosts meeting of phytosanitary, veterinary experts

Chisinau, 6 February /MOLDPRES/- A meeting of phytosanitary and veterinary experts from both banks of the Dniester was held  at the OSCE Mission in Tiraspol on 5 February, the Reintegration Bureau has reported.

The experts continued to exchange views on the procedures that need to be followed when importing seeds and fertilizers, veterinary drugs in the Transnistrian region. They reiterated the need to standardize requirements and profile nomenclatures.

According to the agenda, the specialists from both banks of the Dniester also discussed the veterinary epidemiological situation in the context of spreading various types of infectious diseases in animals and registration of outbreaks of African swine fever. They pointed out the indispensability of strengthening the interaction on information exchanges and necessary steps to prevent, combat and eliminate the risk factors for public health.
