39 localities in Moldova cut off power due to bad weather

Chisinau, 6 February /MOLDPRES/- A number of 39 localities from Nisporeni, Anenii Noi, Cahul, Cantemir, Taraclia, Cimișlia, Leova and Găgăuzia were disconnected from electricity due to strong wind. Electricity providers will work throughout the day to restore energy to consumers.
According to data of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations / IGSU /, during the last 24 hours, due to the strong wind, the IGSU employees intervened in three cases to perform grubbing.
The strong wind broke trees and branches in the capital, where during the night the municipal employees intervened to unblock traffic.
Bad weather conditions also affect the process of crossing state border. Due to lack of power in Ukraine, the activity of several crossing points was stopped, among them PTF Giurgiulești-Reni, PTF Etulia, PTF Cișmichioi, PTF Vulcanesti, PTF Mirnoe, PTF Ceadîr-Lunga 2.
The State Hydrometeorological Service announced this morning a new yellow code valid until 7 February. Authorities from Romania and Ukraine have issued bad weather codes for the coming days and recommend citizens to avoid traveling in order not to get into dangerous situations.
