Chisinau, 6 February /MOLDPRES/ - The faction of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) told a today’s news briefing that it would soon come up with a legislative initiative, thereby proposing amendment of the state budget law and decrease in the lawmakers’ salaries.
PSRM MP Vlad Batrincea said that, starting from 1 January 2020, the salaries of more employees, including the lawmakers, had been increased. “I have always spoken out for the increase in the salaries of the public sector employees. We must find money for increasing the salaries of physicians, teachers, culture employees. We will support initiatives of this kind in parliament, but the MPs do not need the increase in salaries,” Batrincea noted.
The MP said that the draft was to propose would regard only the lawmakers, not also the parliament’s employees.
According to Batrancea, the amendment to the state budget law, which allowed increasing the MPs’ salaries, had been introduced by a lawmaker of the Democratic Party, Vladimir Cebotari, in last December.
