Two Moldovans blocked on cruise ship in Japan not infected with coronavirus

Chisinau, 6 February /MOLDPRES/ - The two Moldovans who work on a cruise ship from Japan, which is in quarantine because of coronavirus, are not infected and feel well. Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi made statements to this effect at a news conference today.
According to Ciocoi, the two citizens of Moldova are members of the cruise ship’s crew and have labour contracts; for this reason, they cannot leave their position without the captain’s permission.
On 5 February, the Japanese authorities informed about the placement in quarantine, for 14 days, of the members of the crew and the passengers of a cruise ship which entered the Yokohama port on 3 February, after Coronavirus had been discovered in some of the passengers. At the moment of placing in quarantine, there were 2,666 passengers and 1,045 crew members on the ship.
Another two Moldovans, who were in the Wuhan city, China, where the coronavirus epidemic broke out, have been evacuated. One of them has also the citizenship of Romania and was taken over by the Bucharest authorities.
