Moldovan Central Electoral Commission marks Global Elections Day

Chisinau, 6 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) marked the Global Elections Day today, celebrated on 6 February this year.
On this occasion, students of the International Relations and Political Sciences Faculty at the Moldovan State University (USM) simulated a CEC’s meeting of discussions. The young people managed to convey, by their game, the spirit of political debates, observing, at the same time, the procedures of the electoral legislation.
Attending this simulation, the CEC members said that the students had managed to convey even the prototype of the behavior of some Moldovan politicians.
The director of the Centre for Continuous Electoral Training (CICDE), Doina Bordeianu, said that the goal of this exercise was to attract and promote the participatory democracy among students and shape a competent electoral spirit.
The Global Elections Day is marked all over the world on the first Thursday of February, respectively, on 6 February in 2020. During time, most international agreements in the electoral field were signed at around this date.
