More actions occasioned by JOC national folk ensemble's anniversary to be held with Moldovan president's support

Chisinau, 7 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today had a meeting with the director general of the JOC National Ensemble of Folk Dance, Aliona Baroncea-Strîmbeanu. Attending the event was Education, Culture and Research Minister Corneliu Popovici.
According to the presidential press service, the officials tackled subjects on the present situation of the ensemble and its future projects.
In particular, the sides discussed the marking of the 75th anniversary of the JOC ensemble’s foundation in 2020 and established, on this occasion, more actions which will be held with the support of Moldova’s president.
Thus, during this year, festive concerts of the ensemble will take place in most district centres of Moldova. Also, Igor Dodon stressed that possibilities would be identified to organize tours of JOC abroad, both to countries from the West and the East.
It is worth mentioning that the presidential institution has earlier provided needed support for the participation of the well-known ensemble in more festivals and tours, including the Dobrovidenie International Folk Song Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia.
During years, the JOC ensemble has asserted itself as a truthful institution of turning to good account and promotion of the most valuable national traditions, customs, rituals, being a true messenger of the native art and culture abroad.
